This piece is about the insecurity of the artist.  The tall birdlike men have two faces. One face is the strong face of persona, the other is our true self. Here, the critics are attending the cinema inside the camera.  The critics are judging even before the film is developed. One must never give their imaginative power away to these critics--most especially to the critics within.
